ABOUT ABOUT

Metropolitan Ballet brings a showcase of outstanding contemporary choreography to the stage this Spring with premieres by Tommie-Waheed Evans, Guggenheim Fellow & Princess Grace Awardee; Sarah Mettin, Artistic Associate of Metropolitan; and fan favorite, Ashley Walton Pabst.

"Impetus” was created by Ashley Pabst for Metropolitan in 2017, and features a large ensemble of 18 dancers with solos and pas de deux set to an enthralling score by Max Richter. Tommie-Waheed Evans is a Philadelphia dance phenom whose national recognition includes the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship and Princess Grace awards for choreography. His new work is a fast-paced, high-energy dance for nine performers. Sarah Mettin’s new work features a cast of 10 in a visceral soundscape.

Two of Settlement Music School’s most outstanding young artists, Adelle Sullivan-Cozza, a violin student of Lee Snyder, and Collin Parker-Szekely, a piano student of Michelle Cann, will provide live music, both as soloists and as accompaniment for Metropolitan’s dancers.
