Wear your Maddest Hat, tumble down the rabbit hole, and meet the curious inhabitants of
Wonderland! A whimsical story ballet adventure after the classic novel by Lewis Carroll. Choreography by Jennifer Clagett Sommers.
The Ugly Duckling
Award-winning choreographer, Ashley Pabst, updates the Hans Christian Andersen tale for a
new generation. The Ugly Duckling is shunned by others who feel she is just too awkward to fit
in. She tries to make friends with other ducklings, frogs, cats and even a fox! Follow her journey
as she learns it takes courage to be yourself. Importantly, this piece shines a light on self-
acceptance and empathy, especially relevant in helping all of us understand what it means to
include or exclude others.

Metropolitan's Kinetic Literacy Program © is a standards-based, integrated academic program which combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic methodologies to enhance and invigorate the English/Language Arts and Math curriculum. Met is celebrating 15 years of this community partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, with our dedicated faculty bringing dance and movement into the classroom to strengthen math and literacy skills for elementary school students.
